Eisner Awards: GIPI tra i nominati!

Sono stati resi noti i nomi dei candidati agli Eisner Awards, scelti dalla giuria composta dal critico Christopher Allen (Comic Book Galaxy), dal cartoonist John Gallangher (Buzzboy), l’editore Nisha Gopalan (Entertainment Weekly), il product manager Robert Randle (Diamond Comic Distributors), e il distributore Robert Scott (Comikaze, San Diego).
Il 21 luglio saranno resi noti i nomi dei vincitori.

Prima di passare all'elenco delle nomination, segnaliamo con molto orgoglio che, dopo il successo di Angouleme, Gipi compare a giusto merito anche tra i premiabili con gli Eisner Awards. E' un riconoscimento indiscutibile del talento di Gipi, nonchè della considerazione di - pare ormai evidente - gli autori italiani godono Oltreoceano.

Il record di nomination va a Chris War: quattro per la sua Acme Novel Library (nuovo Graphic Album, disegnatore/scrittore, colori e lettering) due per Acme Novelty library (ristampa e Design) e un’altra ancora per il design per Draw & Quarterly’s Walt and Skeezix. Sono tutte auto-produzioni.

Lo segue, per numero di nomination, Warren Ellis, con sei: Desolation Jones (nuova serie e saga), Ocean (miniserie) e Fell (nuova serie e serie regolare). Per queste testate, nonché per Down e Planetary, ha inoltre ottenuto la nomination come Scrittore.

Sul terzo gradino del podio, per numero di nomination, c’è Brian Vaughan: Ex Machina (numero singolo, saga e serie regolare) e Y:The Last Man (saga). Inoltre con Runaways come miglior scrittore.

Per la Hall of fames sono stati segnalati dai giudici il cartoonist di Mickey Mouse, Floyd Gottfredson, e il creatore di Wonder Woman, William Moulton Marston.
