Si è detto che Mighty Avengers si svolgerà fuori dagli USA. Quali Paesi si vedranno?

Vedremo una certa quantità di location internazionali e squisitamente “Marvel” (posti come il Microverso o il Limbo), nel primo anno.
Il primo arco narrativo, per esempio, si svolge nell’Europa dell’Est, e mentre i Potenti Vendicatori, tecnicamente, saranno stanziati “fuori dagli USA”, i lettori dovranno attendere fino all’uscita di Mighty avengers #26 prima di riuscire a fare il punto su cosa questo significhi. L’episodio #26 è la prima occasione in cui si vedrà il loro quartier generale. Non sto più nella pelle, per vedere come i lettori reagiranno a… quello che è.

Qualche possibilità di avere un supereroe internazionale come ospite d’eccezione?

Possibilissimo. Aspettatevi di vedere un’ampia schiera sia di personaggi che hanno a che fare con i Vendicatori, sia di personaggi dell’Universo Marvel, far visita alla serie di tanto in tanto.

Porterai con te qualcuno dei nuovi personaggi presentati in Avengers: The Initiative?

Forse. Col tempo. Chi lo sa? L’ultima cosa che voglio fare è rubare qualcuno dei balocchi più fichi  dal baule dei giocattoli di Chris Gage! Chris ha qualche piano grandioso per loro nell’Iniziativa. Penso davvero che travolgerà la gente con le sue prossime storie!

Cosa farà mettere insieme il membri del gruppo?

La fine del mondo. No. peggio. La fine della realtà! Sì. Suona molto meglio. Non sto affatto scherzando. Questo è quello che ci vuole per far mettere insieme questi tipi.

In qualche intervista hai detto che non tutti i personaggi potrebbero restare nella squadra dopo la prima saga. Puoi dirci quali membri rimarranno definitivamente?

Definitivamente Hank, Jocasta, Scarlet e Jarvis. Quelli sono gli unici che voglio impegnare. Rimarrà qualcun altro degli altri eroi dal primo arco narrativo? Sì. Chi? Non lo dirò.

Cosa contraddistinguerà la tua serie dei Vendicatori e in che relazione sarà con le altre serie dei Vendicatori?

Saremo la più vendicatorista delle serie dei Vendicatori. Sì, ho creato un aggettivo. Quello che intendo dire è che questa è la serie che diverrà la portabandiera dell’eredità dei Vendicatori classici. I Nuovi Vendicatori sono underground, colpiscono dalle ombre. I Dark Avengers sono il volto pubblico dei Vendicatori in America (e sia i Nuovi Vendicatori che i Potenti Vendicatori non possono esserlo!). Ma ciò che i Dark Avengers non possono fronteggiare è il fatto che il mondo fuori dall’America sta vedendo una nuova squadra di classici Vendicatori raccogliere il mantello! E quelli sono i personaggi nei Potenti Vendicatori! Nel Dark Reign, questa squadra è il raggio di luce.

Ci sarà qualche connessione con la tua run su Amazing Spider-Man?

È possibile più in là. Ma per il futuro prossimo, i Potenti Vendicatori tracceranno la propria strada.

Ci sarà qualche traccia di “Reckoning War” nelle tue serie?

Sarebbe grandioso. Sarei entusiasta se “Reckoning War” avesse luogo su Mighty Avengers (per chi di voi non lo sapesse, “Reckoning War” è una storia che voglio raccontare da quando ero alle scuole elementari. È anche qualcosa che sto segretamente seminando in quasi tutti i progetti Marvel su cui ho lavorato dal mio ritorno alla compagnia nel 2004!). Poiché molto di “Reckoning War” ha a che fare con razze aliene che combattono in giro per la galassia (e lasciando distrutta la Terra), penso che sarebbe meglio aspettare un po’ che il fumo cosmico si sollevi dall’evento della scorsa estate, Secret Invasion, sia dalla prossima fantascientifica saga d’azione, War Of Kings.

It was said that Mighty Avengers will be set outside of the USA. Which country will be seen?

We'll be seeing a number of international and uniquely "Marvel" locations (places like the Microverse or Limbo) in the first year.
The first story arc, for example, takes place in eastern Europe. And while the Mighty Avengers will, technically, be based "outside of the USA", readers should wait until MA #26 comes out before they try to second guess what that means. Issue #26 is the first time we'll see their new headquarters. I can't wait to see how readers react to... what it is.

Any chance to have some international super hero as guest star?

Every chance. Expect to see a wide range of both Avengers-related characters and Marvel U. characters drop by the book from time to time.

You will take with you any of the new characters introduced in Avengers The Initiative?

Maybe. Eventually. Who knows? The last thing I'd want to do is steal any of the cool toys from Chris Gage's toy box! Chris has some great plans for them over in the Initiative. I really think he's going to blow people away with his upcoming stories!

What will bring together the members of the Group?

The end of the world. No. Worse. The end of all of reality! Yeah. That sounds much better! I'm not kidding though. That IS what it's going to take to get these guys to come together.

In some interview you said that not all the characters may stay in the team after the end of first saga. Can you tell us which of the member will remain definitely?

Definitely Hank, Jocasta, the Scarlet Witch, and Jarvis. Those are the only ones I'm willing to commit to.  Will some of the other heroes from the first arc join? Yes. Who? I'm not saying.

What will mark your Avengers Book and how it will relate with others Avengers Series?

We're going to be the Avenger-iest of the Avengers books. Yes, I made up an adjective. What I mean to say is that this is the book that is going to be the standard bearer for the classic Avengers legacy. The New Avengers are underground, striking from the shadows. The Dark Avengers are the public face of the Avengers in America (and BOTH the New Avengers and the Mighty Avengers can't stand that!). But what the Dark Avengers can't stand is that the world outside of America is seeing a NEW team of classic Avengers picking up the mantle!  And those are the characters in the Mighty Avengers!  In the Dark Reign, this team is the ray of light.

There will be any connection with your run on Amazing Spider-Man?

Possibly down the line.  But for the near future, the Mighty Avengers are going to blaze their own trail.

Any chance to see traces of the "Reckoning War" in your upcoming books?

That'd be great.  I'd love to have the Reckoning War take place in Mighty Avengers (for those of you who don't know, the Reckoning War is a story I've wanted to tell since I was in grade school. It's also something I've secretly been seeding in almost every Marvel project I've been working on since my return to the company in 2004!). Since a lot of the Reckoning War deals with alien races battling across the galaxy (and laying waste Earth), I think it would be best to wait a while for the cosmic smoke to clear from both last summer's epic, Secret Invasion, and the upcoming action packed Sci-Fi saga, the War
of Kings.
